Interschool Sport for all Year 5 and Year 6 students will commence this week.

Interschool Sport is a Coastal District Sport Event in which schools in our southern zone compete in six sporting codes. The sports include:

  • Netball – held at the Caloundra Indoor Sports Centre
  • T20 Cricket – held at the Caloundra Cricket Club
  • Basketball – held at Unity College
  • Soccer – held at the Caloundra Soccer Club at Meridan Plains
  • Rugby League – held at the Caloundra Sharks Junior Rugby League Club
  • Oz Tag – held at Meridan State College.

Students will have extra training opportunities in their selected sport on Tuesday 24 August from 1.45-2.45pm and then Monday 30 August from 1.45-2.45pm to provide extra support and knowledge of their chosen sport.

Interschool sporting rounds will be held OFFSITE at the above locations on Friday August 27 and Friday September 10. We have negotiated an increase in the actual time each day to provide additional games. The draw will now be commencing at 9.30am (buses will depart TPC at 9am) returning to school just prior to 2.45pm.

Parents/Carers are more than welcome to attend the venues but must follow the latest Covid Guidelines where parents are required to wear masks and still socially distance. Parents must sign in through the School Office if at a school venue. Outside Venues will have their own Covid Check-in Codes.

Students travel to and from the various sporting venues on designated charter buses. Students are to arrive at school in their full INTERSCHOOL SPORT CLOTHING. Football boots should not be worn until they are required at the venue.

Rugby League players please note NO MOUTHGUARD = NO PLAY.

Students are responsible for the care and safe keeping of their designated school provisioned TPC Interschool Sport clothing.  Students will be required to return these uniforms to their sporting teacher washed and in good order during week 10.

Students require enough water and food for the day and we ask that sunscreen is applied before arriving at school and wearing their TPC hat is essential.

The initial cost for Interschool Sport was invoiced at $45. Thank you to all parents for your prompt payments.  This cost covers the provision of professional first aid officers, facility hire, groundsman costs, referee hire and transport. With the reduction of sessions, this cost will now be reduced. Once interschool sport has been completed and all costs have been paid, an adjusted cost per student will be calculated. As a result each parent will receive an adjustment notice and a credit for this amount to the individual student account.

Please note that if you choose to take your child home from the sporting venue you must sign the child out with the supervising teacher. Students will not be allowed to depart with people who are not on their emergency contacts list unless permission is given to staff prior to collection
