At Talara Primary College, we are constantly focused on excellence in
curriculum implementation. We offer a comprehensive curriculum in
eight key learning areas including: English, Mathematics, Science, History and
Social Sciences (HASS), The Arts, Technologies (Digital and Design), Health and
Physical Education, and Languages Other Than English (Italian).
Talara Primary College’s Curriculum Framework focuses the whole school
on maximising student learning. We have reconceptualised curriculum leadership
and management in primary schools and receive state wide recognition for this
visionary work. We are leading the way and are proud of it. We have won a
Showcase Award for Excellence and a Strategic Initiative Award for our
programs. We have also hosted conferences around Queensland and are often
asked to assist schools in curriculum design and implementation.
Currently we implement the Australian Curriculum in English,
Mathematics, Science, History and Social Sciences, Technologies and Health and
Physical Education (2018-19). We will also use the Queensland Studies Authority
QCAR Framework to inform curriculum offerings in The Arts.
