The Sunshine Coastal School Sport Office, together with Coastal District School Sport, continues to offer a representative pathway for our students aged 10 to 12 to attend district, regional, state and national school sport trials/championships.

2021 - Coastal District 10-12 Years - Trial Calendar (PDF 59KB)

This year, the Coastal District 10-12 Sports trial processes will fall in line with the current Coastal District 12-19 Sport. This involves an online registration process where parents confirm their child's attendance and specific positional choices within team sports.  This process reduces the college's carbon footprint, making full use of emails to improve response time between parents, convenors and physical education teachers.

DISTRICT TRIALS – Team Sports (eg. Softball, Football, Netball, Basketball)
District trial dates and information are advertised on our Talara Primary College website, newsletter, Facebook page and on the Sunshine Coast School Sport website.
Step 1
Expressions of interest are sort within the child's individual class by the class teacher. These are then collated by the PE Teacher. In the event that there are a large number of interested students, an in-school trial will be held to decrease the number to that outlined by the district convenors.
Step 2Parents are emailed the Coastal District Trial Information, Permission /Medical Form, Code of Conduct and Mouthguard Form (if required).
Step 3Parents go to School Shop Online and register to attend a trial. *It is vitally important that parents keep a receipt of their registration.
Step 4Students submit their completed Permission/Medical Form and Mouthguard Form (if required) to the Coastal District Convenor at the trial.

DISTRICT TRIALS - Individual Sports (Athletics, Swimming and Cross Country)
Step 1
Talara Primary College will hold a school carnival for each of the three disciplines. Eligible students will be identified based on strict Coastal District criteria.
Step 2Parents are emailed the Coastal District Carnival Information, Permission /Medical Form and Code of Conduct; along with an invoice from the college to attend the trial.
Step 3The completed forms are either handed into the office or emailed to me in the weeks prior to the event.

DIRECT-TO-REGION TRIALS
Direct-To-Region trial dates and information are advertised on our Talara Primary College website, newsletter, Facebook page and on the Sunshine Coast School Sport website.
