Empowering Learning through Technology

Talara Primary College delivers 21st century education through innovative use of technology. We integrate digital tools to enhance teaching, personalise learning, and foster creativity and collaboration across the curriculum, delivering digital capability as a core component.

Digital Literacy and the Curriculum

Digital Literacy is represented in the Australian Curriculum as a general capability. This capability focuses on equipping students with the skills to use digital technologies effectively and responsibly across various contexts, including school, home, work, and community settings. (ACARA 2021).

Students develop digital literacy through:

  • Investigating
  • Creating
  • Managing and Operating
  • Practising Digital Safety and Wellbeing
  • Communicating and Collaborating

STEM and Digital Technologies

STEM learning at Talara is hands on, integrated, and future focused. From Prep to Year 6, students develop computational thinking, problem solving, and scientific reasoning through engaging, purposeful learning experiences.

Digital Technologies are embedded across the curriculum, supporting students to explore, create, and apply knowledge in meaningful ways. Our classrooms are equipped with modern tools, and students participate in weekly specialist lessons focused on coding, robotics, and digital citizenship.

Aligned with the Australian Curriculum, these experiences build confidence and capability, preparing students to thrive in a digitally connected world.
