Talara Primary College prides itself on maintaining and updating the many facilities provided for our school community and our students.
Facilities Updates
We currently have a number of exciting projects in the works scheduled for 2022.
New Year 3 & 4 Playground
We are super excited to advise that after lots of consultation with the students from Year 3 and 4, a new playground design has been decided on and the contract for construction has been appointed. It is expected that the delivery and installation will occur late October, with our new playground ready for students early November 2022. A massive thank you to the P&C Committee and the massive community support in raising the $80,000 to make this new play space a reality for our students. We know the kids are just going to love it and it will be a very well used facility in our college

Tucker Shack Upgrade
Our Tuckshop facility has not been updated since the school was built in 1998. The school together with the wonderful P&C committee and our wider community have raised over $150,000 and successfully won a grant, enabling us to undertake the $300,000 renovation and extension.
Not only will the Tucker Shack be bigger, all the equipment with be getting replaced and upgraded with the installation of a dishwasher at last!
The contractor has now been appointed and works are due to commence late in Term 4, 2022 ready for the start of school 2023.
New Prep Outdoor Play Precint
Another very exciting project that is in the works is the much need upgrade of the outdoor Prep precinct.
Planning is currently underway to redesign this area with new learning and play spaces.
Works will be completed before the start of the school year 2023.
Facilities Hire
Our Performance Hall, Multipurpose Courts and the Oval are available for hire for external community groups and businesses.
Performance Hall
Our Performance Hall can comfortably fit 500 people seated, has a Canteen style kitchen with stove, sink, bench space and fridges.
Additional items such as tables, chairs and even popcorn makers can also be hired.
Multi Purpose Courts
Our Multi-purpose courts are fully covered and fenced. The size is equivalent to 2 Basketball courts. There are Basket Ball and Netball hoops as well a Tennis net option.
Please note the is no lighting.
Oval
Our Oval can also be hired. Power and Water connectivity is available by request.
