On Friday March 19, the National Ride2School Day will be held. Ride2School is a nationwide program delivered by Bicycle Network, designed to support schools to encourage, empower and enable more students to get physically active on their journey to school.
National Ride2School Day is Australia’s largest celebration of active travel to school. It is an initiative of the Bicycle Network and supported by Sunshine Coast Council.
Ride2School Day encourages students to get physically active and ride or walk to school.
Please ensure that if your child chooses to ride to school on their bike that they are wearing a fully functioning helmet and if leaving their bike at school during the day, they have a secure lock.
Register your child before 5pm on Friday 19 March to enter the draw for your chance to win. Prizes include 4 x $500 bike shop vouchers.*
*Conditions apply. Prize winners must be school-age children attending a school in the Sunshine Coast Regional Council area, be registered for council's prize draw and travel to school by riding, or walking on Friday 19 March 2021.
Drivers are reminded to take extra care on the roads, slow down around schools and watch for students on bikes.
