Teaching and Learning at TPC reflects best international practice!
During Term 4 of 2014, our college had two senior principal auditors conduct the Teaching and Learning External Review and Audit of Practice. The audit reports back across eight different domain areas, which are identified by international research, that are key to high performing learning communities. Schools are mapped against a set of standards from low, medium, high (top 33 % schools) to outstanding (the top 3 % of school practice internationally)
The outcome of this audit was breathtaking. The auditors mapped our school as “Outstanding” across all 8 domain areas. I have not heard, or seen any other report like this since the introduction of these audits in 2010!
The auditors were very impressed by the clear passion for teaching from every teacher, reflected in the strong caring culture of the college. They spoke with over 100 students from Prep to Year 6 with the students impressing them with their focus and excitement about learning and their level of understanding about their own learning and how to improve. Our attributes of lifelong learning came through very strongly!
We talk about Team at Talara Primary College as being unique and special and this is another piece of evidence that supports our beliefs and shows that what can be achieved as a tight and unified team far outreaches what can be done alone. There is nothing else I can say, but thank you to our students, staff and parents. I am always humbled to work with such an amazing community and such a talented and professional staff.
